CME Tests Low-Bandwidth Feed

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange began testing a new datafeed on Jan. 21 that has been optimized to deliver data over low-bandwidth connections.

The feed, dubbed MDP Lite, is aimed at firms and vendors that lack the resources to upgrade their existing connections to handle growing message volumes but cannot risk missing out on data.

The feed is scheduled for general release by the end of February and is currently being tested by an undisclosed trading software vendor, says Elizabeth Gisch, director
