LONDON—Securities firms are advancing their trading technology infrastructures even though some IT developments are still in their early days, according to participants at the DWT London conference and exhibit held last week in London.

For starters, JPMorgan Chase is building its own bank-wide messaging bus, according to Matthew Rawlings, JPMorgan Chase's head of IT architecture and strategy for prime brokerage. Rawlings, who cited the project during the service oriented architecture (SOA) panel
