BUY-SIDE TECHNOLOGY AWARDS: Best buy-side data management product: Cadis

Cadis, formerly known as Citadel Associates when it first won this category in our inaugural awards back in 2007, is the second of three archetypical buy-side technology vendors in this year’s awards. Cadis, one of only four technology providers to have won the same category for the past four years, started out as a small vendor with big ambitions, armed with a simple, two-pronged strategy: to help all types of buy-side firms manage their data with the view to supporting firm-wide application interoperability, regardless of whether those technologies are third-party-provided or in-house-developed; and to provide the best level of service and customer satisfaction in the industry, bar none.
It is fair to say—given its track record in the Buy-Side Technology Awards, its growth over the last five years from a headcount of eight to in excess of 40, and its impressive client line-up featuring some of the largest names in asset management land—that the City of London-based vendor has achieved those objectives.
The latest version, 7.5, of the Cadis Enterprise Data Management platform addresses one of the most critical challenges facing all buy-side organizations: the normalization of data allowing application interoperability across the enterprise. Cadis achieves this by using a hybrid fixed schema and extract, transform and load (ETL)-based approach to data management, which clearly works—its astonishing 100 percent client retention rate since its launch is testament to its ability to satisfactorily address client issues and keep those clients happy once the implementation has been completed. —VBA
JUDGE'S COMMENT
Cadis continues to dominate the data management arena, with superior functionality, a long list of successful implementations, and a large number of happy clients.
CADIS REACTION
“We work closely with our clients across the globe to implement comprehensive data management solutions that respond directly to their individual needs and are delighted to have won the best data management product for the fourth year running. One of the biggest concerns for all companies this year has been risk, and data is key when it comes to determining risk. We have a well-earned reputation for delivering accurate, auditable and verified data—essential to any informed risk management strategy.”
—Dan Simpson, CEO, Cadis
