The Buy-Side Technology Awards Turn 10
This year’s BST Awards, held on November 4 at the May Fair Hotel in London, like each of the preceding nine years, featured a number of new winners. New to the BST Awards winners’ circle were Rival Systems, eSentire, Commcise, Symbiont, and Quantitative Brokers. As usual, the final two categories—best buy-side product for 2016 and best overall technology provider for 2016—were announced on the day and were won by London-based commission management technology provider Commcise and Swiss investment bank UBS, respectively. There were also three “service to the industry awards” announced on the day, awarded to BISAM, IHS Markit and RIMES Technologies.
Welsh rugby union and rugby league legend Jonathan Davies and ex-Scotland rugby union international Ian Robertson handed over the trophies. This year’s external judges were: Clare Vincent Silk (Investit), Jonathan Clark (Pentagon Consulting), Paul Miller (Knadel), Sang Lee (Aite Group), Phil Tattersall (EY) and Paul Stevens. Victor Anderson, Anthony Malakian, Dan DeFrancesco and John Brazier also sat on the judging panel.
