Target2-Securities: Give and Take
The Target2-Securities (T2S) platform—originally proposed in 2006—was meant to revolutionize the way securities transactions are settled in Europe. Six years on, the first tests have yet to take place. One of the largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken within the European Union, it is a key component of the Lisbon Strategy, which aims to promote a competitive economy within Europe.
Under the aegis of the project, fragmented post-trade services within the Eurozone will be consolidated
