When asked which vendors they are tracking, many people in the industry pick the same companies. We thought it was time to apply a more skeptical view to the vendors that are supposed to be big this year.

First, we’ll examine Thomson Financial (TF).

: The winner of the IMD 2003 award for Company to Watch, TF continues to launch Thomson One packages and announce new customers. Moreover, its share of screens rose from 20 percent to 22 percent in 2003, which may auger further growth this year
