Buy-Side Technology Awards: Best Buy-Side OMS─ConvergEx's Eze OMS
Over the last year, Eze OMS has enhanced its compliance engine to allow for a simplified client experience for modeling workflows and for viewing compliance violations for large data sets. On the portfolio management side, Eze Castle Software has added a restriction and substitution feature- which limits manual processes─that allows for the evaluation of, and adherence to, investment rules within an account or strategy during the modeling process.
Also new to the system is an embedded calculation certification tool that ensures that the calculations performed by the Fincad Analytics engine-added in 2009-for a given asset have been certified by Eze. To help users shock existing positions-an increasingly important process with turbulent markets-ConvergEx added Eze Valuation and Scenario to its OMS.
In November, Waters profiled Richard Alexander, CIO of Cerberus Capital Management, a hedge fund and private equity behemoth with more than $20 billion under management. The firm is currently in the process of replacing its proprietary OMS with Eze OMS. After an extensive vendor analysis, Alexander says that Eze OMS came out "head and shoulders" above the competition-high praise indeed.
ConvergEx has also made a strong push to extend its presence as nearly 30 percent of its new clients have come from outside of the US, including Mainland China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Brazil. The firm has also made significant inroads into the alternative asset management space.
