Solarflare's OpenOnload and Solarflare Precision Time, part of the Flareon Ultra server I/O platform, have been deployed to accelerate network applications, improve network monitoring and synchronize server clocks across BSE's network.

"They were transitioning from a fault-tolerant (FT) server environment to an open systems architecture build-out complete with ultra-low latency with the aim to become the fastest exchange in India," Solarflare CEO Russell Stern tells Sell-Side Technology.

The BSE, Solarflare and Arista Networks also plan to hold workshops on the benefits of building an ultra-low latency infrastructure.

Stern says there will be future deployments of Solarflare software at the BSE, but declined to go into more detail.
