FIX Group Standardizing Venue Data
Brokers have long been providing venue execution information to buy-side clients who ask for it. What the FIX working group on execution venues has been working on recently is standardizing that broker data. According to the group's co-chair, that standardization and the resulting consistency should be available soon.
"What was happening before we took this up was some firms were getting this information in the form of Reuters exchange codes, which FIX 4.0 says to use," says Brian Lees, co-chair
