SIA Survey: Users Want Faster Recoveries

RECOVERY AND CONTINUITY

NEW YORK—Findings from the third annual business continuity planning (BCP) survey of the Securities Industry Association (SIA) show that user firms are reporting quicker response times for data recovery, an increased reliance on voice-over-IP (VoIP) and a significant dependence on email as mission critical.

For example, most companies have a recovery time plan of less than 24 hours, with almost half placing recovery at less than four hours. Almost 20 percent of respondents expect to recover
