SIA Event Underscores BCP Shortcomings

NEW YORK—Wall Street has made great technological strides to improve its resiliency in case of disasters or terrorist attacks since Sept. 11, 2001, but it has some way to go in terms of coordinating personnel and planning for chemical and biological attacks, industry officials say.

Last month, the Securities Industry Association (SIA) and the Bond Market Association (BMA) conducted a joint "tabletop exercise"—essentially a theoretical discussion—with 13 broker-dealers involved in both markets
