• FIX Protocol Ltd. has formed a working group to explore the widely used messaging protocol's applicability for communication between retail broker/dealers and institutional firms and exchanges. The Retail Intermediary Working Group will be headed up by Schroeder Salomon Smith Barney's Kevin Houstoun. Until now, FIX has been used solely for trade communications in the institutional community.
