Faulty Switches Halt CME’s Globex
EXCHANGE TECHNOLOGIES
CHICAGO--The Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s (CME) Globex trading platform was taken offline last Thursday morning and restarted after a five-hour delay caused by faulty network switches that prevented trading firms from accessing trades or determining status of orders.
As TTW went to press, CME was still trying to determine the exact nature of the switch problems. Globex was halted at 10:40am Chicago time. CME then took the problem switches offline and either replaced them or routed the data
