First Boston Eyes Teknekron For N.Y. Bond Trading Room -- But Stays Cozy With Quotron, Adding Auto Failover To TSS

First Boston Corp. has begun to consider Teknekron Software Systems Inc. for use in the same New York bond trading room that Quotron's Trading Support System (TSS) currently dominates. However, officials at the firm say they remain satisfied with the Quotron system. They say the firm has lately implemented an automatic failover facility in support of its fixed-income trading operation's TSS platform; the facility was developed by FBC in collaboration with Quotron.

According to FBC chief
