NSC To Be Used For Euronext Merger Trading

NETWORKS & INFRASTRUCTURE

PARIS--The Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris Stock Exchanges are to merge into one exchange, Euronext, and will use the NSC trading system for all equities, and maybe derivatives trading.

NSC, which is presently being used by the Paris and Brussels exchanges, will be rolled out to the Amsterdam exchange by Q1, 2001. The Amsterdam Exchange currently uses a combination of electronic and open-outcry trading methods. A launch of the completed Euronext merge is intended for September.
