Merger May Put Pressure on JP Morgan’s IT

LONDON--The merger between Chase Manhattan and JP Morgan may squeeze out JP Morgan’s IT departments, staff and its technology choices as the rationalization begins.

Sources say that JP Morgan’s technology spending and program rollouts have been frozen and that Chase’s IT staff want to take over the management of JP Morgan’s technology and platforms quickly.
