Optimark Shuts Down Nasdaq and PCX Operations

JERSEY CITY, N.J.--The Optimark saga continues. The beleaguered company announced it would suspend its equity trading operations on Nasdaq and the Pacific Exchange as well as eliminate 110 jobs in the hope of significantly reducing its costs.
Earlier this month, the company revealed that it was low on funds and was exploring opportunities to sell its equities business (Institutional Trading Technology, Sept. 4).
