DLJ Chooses Sun Over H-P For 100-Position Bond Room

Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Inc. has selected UNIX-based workstations from Sun Microsystems Inc. to be the platform for a new trading-room system supporting 100 taxable fixed-income traders in New York and a smaller number at six branch offices nationwide. In opting for Sun, the firm has rejected workstations from Hewlett-Packard Co., which had been competing for the contract.

DLJ will now turn its attention to evaluations of local data distribution systems. The planned New York trading room
