CHICAGO--The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) has resolved a dispute with Euronext over the European company’s role in eSpeed’s lawsuit against the CME for infringement of the Wagner futures trading patent.

Euronext officials announced last week that they are paying CME $7.5 million, half of the $15 million CME is paying eSpeed, to resolve the Wagner suit. Euronext paid CME half the settlement in the fourth quarter of 2002, and will pay the remainder by the end of 2003.
