Smith Barney Eyes Three In Mid-Office System Quest

Smith Barney Harris Upham & Co. is evaluating three vendors to determine which will provide the middle-office systems to support its trading operations. The firm is considering Bloomberg L.P., QV Trading Systems Inc. and Reuters' newly acquired Effix Systemes S.A. subsidiary, and expects to make its decision sometime later this month or next.
