NEW YORK--Two of the largest firms servicing the voice and data needs of trading floors are stepping up their efforts to convince customers to move from analog phones to systems that can handle Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).

Transaction Network Services last week showcased new VoIP services for trading firms on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT). TNS, a Psinet company, conducted a point-to-point demonstration between one of its sites in Reston, Va and a V-Band turret on the CBOT
