Analysts: Primex May Get Lost In SuperMontage’s Shadow

NEW YORK--A facility built by broker-dealer consortium Primex Trading, the Primex Auction System, will soon be offered alongside Nasdaq’s SuperMontage, but may get overshadowed by the more highly publicized platform to come, say industry analysts.

Launched in December 2001, Primex, which last week began trading New York Stock Exchange-listed securities on its platform, could be viewed as a play by major broker-dealers to hedge their bets in a fragmented market, particularly for over-the-counter
