The New York Mercantile Exchange Plans Automated Trading System

THIS WEEK'S LEAD STORIES

After a year of research and testing, the New York Mercantile Exchange has finalized plans for its own after- hours electronic trading system. The NYMEX system will be an anonymous order-matching system with features specific to energy trading.

A request for proposal (RFP) to provide the system and its network will be issued at the end of the month to specific vendors. Vendors will also be asked to submit any plans for potential enhancements to the NYMEX-designed system.
