Nyfix Puts NYSE in Floor Brokers' Hands

NEW YORK--Beginning in early November, trading systems and connectivity provider Nyfix is rolling out a revamped suite of what it calls "exchange automation products" for floor operations at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Central to the offering is a new hand-held, wireless Ipaq device from HP/Compaq, which is intended to gradually replace the older, larger and slower Casio Casiopeias that have heretofore been the NYSE wireless standard.

Separately, Nyfix recently acquired an 18 percent
