SocGen Turns to Grid Computing
TRADING FLOOR TECHNOLOGIES
PARIS--Societe Generale’s Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) unit has begun testing Platform Computing’s Symphony grid-computing platform for its commodities department, with further expansion planned for other derivatives, say SocGen and Platform officials.
The firm, which intends to fully implement Symphony by the end of the year, chose Platform after first spending about six months trying to internally develop a distributed computing architecture for performing derivatives risk and pricing
