IT's War--NYMEX Takes Aim At Globex, Offers CEC Members Part Of Access

In a challenge to the Chicago futures exchanges' Globex electronic trading initiative, the New York Mercantile Exchange will soon ask its fellow Commodity Exchange Center members to become partners in its Access automated futures- trading system. If the CEC exchanges take up the NYMEX's offer, Access would present the Globex partners with a formidable opponent in the race to build the nation's first fully automated after-hours exchange.
