Few Glitches Apparent From Y2K Tests Conducted By SIA And SIA Members

NEW YORK--With few problems to report, the Securities Industry Association (SIA) completed its latest round of Year 2000 compliance beta tests of the securities industry's systems last week.

The four days of beta tests began on July 13, simulating the trading conditions awaiting the equities, options, municipal bonds, corporate bonds and other markets on December 29, 1999. Tests resumed on Wednesday, July 15, mimicking the anticipated conditions of December 30, and on Monday, July 20, when
