NEW YORK--The Institute for International Research's third annual conference on Straight Through Processing last month included a panel discussion and presentation by Dushyant Shahrawat of the Tower Group. Shahrawat gave conferees a look at the synergy--and the schism--between FIX and XML. Plain vanilla FIX messaging are no longer all things to all people, and the migration to XML appears to be on in some quarters and in asset classes outside of equities.
