Espeed Puts Its Network In Higher Gear

NEW YORK--Espeed is boosting the rate at which it sends data to its customers to 256 Kbps from 56 Kbps and ratcheting up the number of transactions it can handle to 500 per second per instrument.
The electronic trading network is powering up because it expects program trading in fixed-income securities, a service that Espeed offers to its 500 institutional clients, to take off this year.
