Reuters To Restrict Opra Data In Bid To Contain Traffic

LONDON--Anticipating enormous increases in data traffic over the next two years, Reuters plans to reduce its coverage of North American options prices, and offer full coverage only to heavy users who are willing to pay for it. Starting in the fourth quarter, Reuters' Integrated Data Network-delivered real-time data services will carry only prices from the primary exchange for multiply listed contracts.

While the move could stir some controversy among users, Reuters believes that it will allay
