Infiniband Cuts RMDS Latency
DELIVERY TECHNOLOGIES
Infiniband networking technology could halve data latency in Reuters' RMDS data distribution platform and boost throughput rates over current Ethernet options, according to research from the Securities Technology Analysis Center (STAC).
STAC tested the effect of Infiniband on an installation of RMDS running on Intel chip-based servers from HP, using IP modulation drivers from Voltaire for unicast and multicast delivery.
