DORA stalls over identifier dispute
A disagreement over how to classify third-party tech providers on a reporting form known as the “register of information” has held up preparations for the highly anticipated operational resiliency rule in Europe.
Following a months-long disagreement between the European Securities and Markets Authority and the European Commission, the Digital Operational Resilience Act has hit a major snag.
The disagreement between ESMA and the EC over the Legal Entity Identifier and the newer EU Digital Identity (EUDI), both of which uniquely identify business entities, has left firms in limbo, unable to complete the so-called “registers of information”—which will be used to determine whether or not certain tech vendors
