HSBC Links 3,000 CPUs via 14 Grids

LONDON—HSBC has grid-enabled 3,000 CPUs globally in the past three years, and is planning to expand and integrate its grid computing power for interest rate, equity and credit derivatives as well as credit risk management and foreign exchange (FX) options, HSBC officials tell DWT.

The 3,000 CPUs, all located in data centers around the globe, are distributed across 14 grids, bank officials say. The grids vary in size from 28 CPUs to 1,050 units for more complex calculations and processes, says
