Once the connections go live in September, the new average internal roundtrip network latency will be down to around 50 microseconds, estimates Collin Coleman, IT director of Schneider Trading Associates. The new connections will also offer additional scalability. "The upgrade will allow us to add new services quicker, because we'll have plenty of capacity," he says. From a trading perspective, it will enable spread machines and algorithms to perform faster, he adds.
