2004 WATERS AWARDS

In October, SunGard officials announced that SunGard Availability Services (SAS), which accounted for 40 percent of SunGard's 2003 revenue, will spin off from its software and processing business to form its own company. SunGard CEO Cris Conde told Waters that the BCP side of the business had the better-known brand name and was strong enough to stand on its own.

In the BCP field, we expect SAS to do just fine. SAS divides its BCP efforts into four areas—systems recovery, end-user recovery
