Top Fix spot for Goudey-Rigger

Fix Protocol Ltd has appointed Nicole Goudey-Rigger as the buy-side chair of the US Fix Steering Committee, to succeed Michael Caffi of State Street Global Advisors after his two-and-a half years in the position. Goudey-Rigger heads up the Risk Management Compliance Group at Alliance Capital Management and is leading the implementation of a global, fixed-income compliance integration.

Reading joins Access International

Access International Financial Services, a Denver-based provider of back-office securities processing platforms, has appointed Bruce Reading as executive vice-president, regional manager for the Americas. Reading joins Access from Cayman Systems, where he was vice-president, worldwide sales and marketing.

Before that, Reading spent eight years at the Dictaphone Corporation, where he served in a number of managerial positions. He holds a BSc degree in Economics from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Zeleniak lands CFO post at Access

Access International Financial Services, a Denver-based back-office securities processing firm, has appointed David Zeleniak as chief financial officer (CFO).

"With Access securing its first customer and aggressively building its sales pipeline, being tasked with building the infrastructure to accommodate ensuing growth is an exciting challenge," says Zeleniak.

Zeleniak joined Rush Creek Solutions, a Denver-based professional services firm, as chief operating officer in October 2000. Before that, he was chief administrative officer for Comprehensive Software Systems, a front- to back-office software developer serving the financial services industry.

Zeleniak received undergraduate degrees in accounting, finance and economics from Penn State University in 1979 and graduated magna cum laude with an MBA from the University of Cincinnati in 1980.

Changes aplenty at Hyperfeed

Hyperfeed Technologies, a Chicago-based market data and technology vendor, has appointed Paul Pluschkell as president and chief operating officer. Pluschkell joined the company in August 2002 as executive vice-president of strategic business development with a mandate to identify and grow new sustainable markets for HyperFeed’s core technology. He has extensive experience in the market data and telecommunications industries, including service at Reuters, Global Crossing and MXNet.

HyperFeed’s chief executive (CEO) Jim Porter also made other appointments.

Michael Kreutzjans

becomes executive vice-president, technology business development. Kreutzjans has been with HyperFeed since its inception in 1983, most recently as chief technology officer.

Kristen Mologousis

is now senior vice-president, strategic business development. With over 11 years with HyperFeed, Mologousis has served the firm in a variety of capacities, including senior vice-president of sales, marketing and customer service.

Randall Frapart

is now chief financial officer. He will manage HyperFeed’s accounting, administration and legal efforts. Frapart spent six years at Cyvent technologies as CFO and as president and CEO, and 12 years at chartered accountants KPMG Peat Marwick.

Frank Guerrera

is named chief technology officer. He will manage the firm’s operations, product management and product development groups. Guerrera joins HyperFeed from Boston-based State Street Bank, where he was managing director of global markets and securities finance global technology. Before that, he held positions at Reuters America, Fidelity Management Research Company and JP Morgan Chase.

Thomas Wojciechowski

becomes senior vice-president of sales. He will manage the global sales teams from HyperFeed’s New York office. Wojciechowski has served in senior management capacities at Exodus/Global Center, MoneyLine Network and Reuters America.

Kurt Klein

will continue in his current role as senior vice-president of operations and support services, reporting to Frank Guerrera.

CIO role for Reuters’ Meekings

Reuters, the information, news and technology group, has appointed Greg Meekings as chief information officer (CIO). Meekings, who will be based in London, will head up all internal business systems and administration across the firm, reporting directly to Philip Green, Reuters’ chief operating officer. As CIO, Meekings will lead the strategic direction of Reuters’ global business processes and systems, including Reuters Business Centers, in addition to expanding customer service initiatives. He will be responsible for IT security and sourcing across the Reuters group.

Meekings has been with the firm for 15 years. Most recently, he was managing director (MD) of Reuters Global Services, where he led Reuters’ customer-facing support and solutions services. Before that, he was MD of Reuters Global Transactions, as well as an MD in the Corporate Technology Group. He joined Reuters as an international technical manager, assisting with global development for the trading room systems product group.

Before joining Reuters, Meekings was services director at First Computer, where he led four technical service divisions and was responsible for all systems consulting, software development, training and field service operations. Prior to that, he managed the industrial control systems division as a business manager for software firm Logica. There he developed the BBC’s original Ceefax Teletext head-end system, which evolved into Teletext technology.

Redd to lead Capco’s US west coast practice

Tracie Redd

has been appointed as partner to head up the US west coast practice of Capco, a Belgium-based financial services company with a buy-side focus.

Redd, formerly a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Global Financial Services Consulting Practice, served as an partner for the Investment Management and Capital Markets Practice in the US western region and previously led the East Asia Capital Markets Consulting Practice. She will be based in San Francisco.

Capco’s west coast office will focus on strategy and operational issues, with specific emphasis on internal integration and cost reduction, migration to electronic payments, STP implementation, reduction of non-earning assets and merger and integration support.

Redd holds an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business and a BA from Princeton University.

Iris Financial boosts London development team

San Francisco-based componentized trading and risk management vendor Iris Financial Systems has appointed Dennis Pilsworth and Guy Ellis to support the implementation of the firm’s component services architecture (CSA). Pilsworth and Ellis both have 10 years’ IT, project management and domain experience. Pilsworth previously served as a technical architect and project manager at German investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. Before this, he worked as a consultant for IBM and professional services firm Accenture.

Ellis joins Iris from Pareto Partners -- a California-based IT firm specializing in start-ups and incubations -- where he was a senior developer. Prior to Pareto, Ellis was a consultant for NCI, responsible for developing front-office systems for money market clients.

COO role at Thomson for Wagner

Boston-based Thomson Financial, an operating unit of the Thomson Corporation has appointed Kenneth Wagner as chief operating officer (COO) for sales, trading and wealth management. Wagner will report directly to Lou Eccleston, his former boss at Bloomberg, who joined Thomson as president of sales, trading and wealth management in June 2002.

Wagner was previously COO at Quant Trading, a provider of software that enables financial market institutions to automate trading room workflow processes. He also spent time at Liberty Direct, an electronic inter-dealer broker, as COO, and did a 12-year stint at Bloomberg. Wagner’s final role at Bloomberg was as head of the integrated products group for the Americas, reporting to Eccleston, who was managing director.

Duale lands Reuters Asia MD role

Reuters has appointed Marc Duale as president of Reuters Japan, effective October 1, 2002. Dual, 50, who has only been with the firm since January 2002, when he joined as managing director of Reuters Asia, succeeds Richard Pascoe, who will return to London after his four-year stint in Japan.

Prior to joining Reuters, Duale worked at DHL Worldwide Express, where he was director of western Europe and north Africa, before moving to Hong Kong to become chief operating officer for the Asia-Pacific Middle East region in 1999. He also worked for American Express in New York and Paris for seven years and was a consultant at the Boston Consulting Group in Chicago. He has an MSc and a Harvard MBA.

New Investmaster post for Margison

Investmaster Group -- a London-based, wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian fund manager AGF Management -- has appointed Neville Margison as its new product strategy director. Margison joins the wealth management systems supplier from TCA Synergo, a London-based share dealing administration and settlement vendor, which forms part of the Terence Chapman Group.

Margison spent 11 years at Synergo, most recently as a board director responsible for product design and development. His post is a newly created one and will see him working closely with managing director Tom Brady on designing, developing and marketing Investmaster’s range of buy-side products.

Top spot for Mandalinci at SunGard ePI

Matt Mandalinci

has been appointed president of New Jersey-headquartered SunGard eProcess Intelligence, an operating unit of the SunGard Financial Services group. Mandalinci’s primary responsibility will be driving growth at SunGard ePI. Mandalinci joined SunGard in 1992 and was previously group managing director of SunGard Trading and Risk Systems, Asia Pacific, and president of BancWare, a key product of SunGard Trading and Risk Systems. He oversaw the firm’s Asia-Pacific operations from 1999 and has lived in Singapore since 2000.

Before moving to SunGard, Mandalinci was involved with a number of software companies, most notably Pilot Executive Software, Thorn EMI and Data Group in Massachusetts. He holds a BSc degree from the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the Singapore Economic Review Board.

Cruickshank and Lowdon move to Cameron Systems

Cameron Systems, the Melbourne-based Fix engine vendor, has appointed Glenn Cruickshank and Chris Lowdon to spearhead the firm’s European expansion. Cruickshank and Lowdon join Cameron Systems from Concord, MA-based Financial Fusion, which also specializes in Fix technology and implementations.
