will introduce three euro-denominated bond indices using a formula developed with the help of Commerzbank and Moosmueller & Knauf, a German software publisher. Reuters will launch the Euro Pfandbrief Index, the Euro Emerging Markets Bond Index and the Euro Corporate Bond Index. Commerzbank is providing the concept and historical data for the indices and Moosmueller & Knauf developed the software to calculate the indices.The Northern Trust Co. says it will unveil a series of upgrades to its risk management and performance measurement products in 1999. The upgrades will include enhancements to the Integrated Risk Management service, including the addition of analytics and specialized reporting to the FundRisk reporting product. The company also plans to release FundDimensions, a three-dimensional reporting tool that distills the complexities of multiple currency and multiple manager funds into a single screen. The single-screen approach allows plan sponsors to pinpoint select areas of interest and importance for variable analytic situations. The company will also release version 3.0 of Northern Trust Alerts, a compliance monitoring tool that will offer consolidated reporting.
Churchill Management Group
, a Los Angeles-based investment advisory firm with approximately $250 million in assets under management, recently signed an agreement to implement components of Advent Software Inc.'s Office software suite. In place of its in-house IBM System 36 software, the company will use Advent's Axys for portfolio management, Moxy for trade order management and Rex for Internet-based trade reconciliation. The company needed to replace its old system because it was not Year 2000 compliant.Barra Inc.
of Berkeley, Calif., announced the release of version 2.3 of its Cosmos System Global Risk Manager. The upgrade features European Monetary Union compatibility and the addition of asset types and emerging market currencies. The software also features compliance with the Year 2000 date change. The system includes a number of features designed to accommodate the introduction of the euro, including an EMU local market risk model and a benchmark yield curve against which all European sovereign markets can be measured.Capital Management Sciences
, a division of Data Broadcasting Corp., released an enterprise-wide version of its BondEdge portfolio analytics software package. Designed for larger institutions, the BondEdge upgrade uses an Intranet to share portfolio information and analytics across an enterprise. The software can be maintained on one server that will be available to distributed clients at multiple sites.Only users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
