Reuters Profits Up as Revenues Lag

VENDOR UPDATE

LONDON—While Reuters reported some improvements in its bottom line last week, its problems with recurring revenues—underscored by declines in its Enterprise revenue group—continue.

However, Reuters officials stress that the vendor’s rate of decline in revenue continued to slow in the second quarter of 2004. Company officials also forecast a broadly positive outlook for the rest of this year, buoyed by a number of major new deals, and the news that two-thirds of its "biggest customers" have made
