Tibco, Reuters Speed Up Separation

NEW YORK--Reuters and Tibco last week agreed to accelerate their corporate separation--another chapter in a complex relationship that spans nearly 10 years.

As TTW reported weeks ago, Tibco has been pushing to get back into the financial services sector sooner than the March 2004 expiration date for its prior agreement with Reuters (TTW, Sept. 22).

In the agreement, which was announced last week, Tibco is free to go after the financial services sector as long as it never sells market data
