Kx Moves Into Tokyo

TOKYO--The trend for consolidation in Japanese banking should provide new business opportunities for US database technology company Kx Systems and Kdb, its flagship product, says an official at the vendor’s sales and services partner, First Derivatives.

"Mergers create opportunities for Kx because in many cases their [merging banks’] systems are different and they need to invest in middleware to get the systems talking to each other," says John Conneely, business development executive at UK
