Riverbed Rides Server Consolidation Wave

LONDON--The data center server consolidation underway at major sell-side institutions is fueling demand for the WAN performance offerings of Riverbed Technology, reports Rob Mustarde, a managing director for the California start-up.
One such firm, Merrill Lynch, is using the Riverbed Steelhead "appliance" offering to cut back on the number of servers in use at its remote offices, according to a prepared statement released earlier this year. In fact, the firm has consolidated its remote office
