BoI Staff Voting on Hewlett-Packard Plan

DUBLIN--As TTW went to press last Friday, IT staff members at the Bank of Ireland (BoI) were voting on whether to accept an outsourcing deal with Hewlett-Packard or reject it and hold further strikes.

But the dispute appears to have been largely resolved, with both the bank and the employees’ union, the Irish Bank Officials Association, sounding upbeat prior to the ballot on proposals designed to save the deal and forestall any more work stoppages.

IT staff affiliated with IBOA held a 24-hour
