AFTAs 2024 winner’s interview: Bank of America

Bank of America (BofA) won the Best data management initiative category in the American Financial Technology Awards 2024 thanks to its Enterprise DataConnect project. Discussing the firm’s recent success is Rajneesh Acharya, managing director and global head of technology, Corporate Treasury, CIO, Strategic Forecasting and Stress Testing at BofA:

• How did the Enterprise DataConnect initiative come about? What was the thinking behind the initiative, when did the project kick off, and what data management problems/challenges was it intended to solve?
• What is the status of the project? Has the bulk of it been completed or is there still a significant amount of work to undertake?  
• What have the results been to date? Has Enterprise DataConnect delivered on its various promises and have there been any (positive) unintended consequences of the project? Do you have any metrics to illustrate just how transformational the project has been for BofA?
