ISO Group Proposes 20-Character Legal Id

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) legal entity identifier working group has proposed a new 20-character identification code, which is currently being circulated for voting as part of the ISO standard process.

The proposed standard is an alphanumeric code with one or two check digits and without embedded intelligence. ISO member countries have until late June to vote and comment on this.

The new code is longer than some of the other standards that have been proposed for
