SIX Updates Data Service in Response to U.S. Sanctions Against Venezuela

SIX Financial Information updates global data service to help financial institutions address new U.S. sanctions against Venezuela.

The vendor will flag securities in client portfolios that may be subject to US sanctions..

The grace period for the sanctions ends on Sept. 24, so SIX has made its update available now to ensure financial institutions have time to adjust their portfolios to block in-scope securities from being traded, held or serviced. During the grace period, transactions covered by the sanctions must be reported in detail to the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) within 10 days. The sanctions affect debt and equity-issued trades related to the Government of Venezuela and national oil
