Japan: Users Urge Data Vendors to Focus on Long-Term Relationships and Flexibility
TOKYO - With a cost-conscious environment, firms are looking for increased flexibility and collaboration from data vendors, according to a panel of users at the Tokyo Financial Information Summit in April.
Panelists stressed that banks suffered badly in the financial crisis, but vendors have not taken the same hit. Michael Hansard, chief information officer, ING Life Japan, said vendors should be flexible. "I think the clear message is (that vendors) have to adjust with the market," he said.
