The solution
Both APX and Geneva offer firms best-of-breed investment solutions purposely built for buy-side firms’ accounting needs. APX is designed to help investment managers follow regulatory and client mandates, ensuring regulatory compliance. Geneva is designed to manage complex fund structures, ensuring data governance, and supporting the expansion of firms’ asset class coverage. To address the growth in private credit, Geneva has introduced new workflows and investor accounting requirements.
Secret sauce
APX simplifies operations with a centralized platform for portfolio, relationship, and prospect data. It enables compliance with Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) mandates to assure managers and investors that their performance is correct and comparable. Complex investment accounting, including processing derivative and credit instruments, is the heart of the Geneva platform, making it the portfolio management and accounting system of choice for large numbers of buy-side firms, by virtue of its asset class coverage and fund structure capabilities.
Recent milestones
- Improving the APX user experience with faster report run times, expanded integration via Rest APIs, and the rollout of a market and reference data connectivity solution, Advent Market Data
- Increasing scale and automation for SS&C Advent’s managed services team
- Expanding Geneva’s technology stack with enhancements in Rest API capabilities, advancements in web-based workspace, and loan-processing functionality
Future objectives
- APX will continue to enhance scalability with expanded integration capabilities, increased report runtimes, enhanced analytics and attribution reports for deeper insights, and streamlined workflows to support firms as they take on more clients, grow their assets, and expand their business lines.
- SS&C Advent will continue to modernize Geneva for a better user experience with higher levels of automation and intelligence, helping to lower the total cost of ownership and improve data access.
