BST Awards 2022: Best cloud provider to the buy side—IPC Systems
Product: Connexus Cloud
Overview
Connexus Cloud supports the use of the cloud for secure, high-performance data and voice communication by providing and integrating private and hybrid clouds and enabling secure access to over 550 public clouds.
What problem does it address?
IPC’s network is secured by Connexus’ extranet, which keeps financial transactions private and secure. The strengths of Connexus Cloud are its end-to-end security protocols and the composition of IPC’s community of global financial market participants, which renders the offering particularly appealing to the buy side.
Secret sauce
Connexus Cloud’s greatest attribute is its sheer scale: Its buy-side network consists of over 200,000 users from more than 7,000 capital markets firms across the globe.
Recent milestones
- IPC launched Connexus Crypto, an arbitrage-enabling platform for cryptocurrency trading underpinned by the Connexus Cloud platform. Connexus Crypto is engineered to support complex trading strategies and provides low-latency connectivity to global crypto exchanges, enabling instant access to liquidity.
- IPC expanded its global footprint by onboarding Drebbel, the Amsterdam-, Brussels- and Frankfurt-based technology broker, as the sales channel for its Connexus suite in several European markets.
- IPC expanded its electronic trading portfolio with the launch of Connexus Alpha. The offering allows a range of buy-side and sell-side firms to connect to global liquidity venues through ultra-low-latency point-to-point optical fiber connections.
“IPC is committed to the continuous evolution and improvement of the industry-leading Connexus Cloud platform and providing the highest-quality cloud execution and compliance solutions for our buy-side clients.”
Tim Carmody, CTO, IPC Systems
Future objectives
- IPC will develop voice-enabled and natural-language processing apps.
- It will launch infrastructure-as-a-service solutions.
- It will create access options into the Connexus Cloud for customers that have requirements at geographically challenging locations for standard connectivity.
Why they won
IPC Systems in no stranger to the winners’ circle in these and other WatersTechnology awards, thanks largely to its hugely successful Unigy platform. However, it is now the turn of the firm’s Connexus Cloud offering in the winners’ circle, a platform featuring impressive scale: It provides secure access to over 550 public clouds, while its buy-side network consists of over 200,000 users from over 7,000 firms across the globe. Recent developments include the firm’s Connexus Crypto platform and Connexus Alpha, its ultra-low-latency point-to-point optical fiber connectivity service.
