BST Awards 2020: Best buy-side client reporting platform—FIS

The hallmark of any good relationship is good communication, and the sentiment holds true for that between an investment manager and an end-investor. Especially in the age of social distancing and travel bans, maybe nothing else is as important.
Through its Data Exchange, FIS has locked down the category of best buy-side client reporting platform by providing private equity managers, partners, and investors with a platform that enables two-way investor communications, digital consent capabilities, self-service data queries for portfolio transparency, and document collaboration.
“Our clients are seeking to host their annual investor meetings leveraging our Data Exchange platform with streaming media and prepared video content to ensure relevant data is accessible for these critical investor interactions,” according to a spokesperson.
Its innovative search functionality and advanced data visualizations enables investors to find and analyze data easily so that private equity firms can demonstrate their core differentiators. Data Exchange is also key to the fundraising process, given its ability to provide potential investors with a demonstration of the kind of experience they can expect from the firm with secure, on-demand access to investment information and due diligence questionnaires.
As it focuses on the future, connectivity and integration drive the firm’s strategy as it looks to make enhancements to its offerings aimed at private equity stakeholders.
“Private equity is known to attract the best and brightest across all functions, and that translates into setting up a best of breed technology framework to support firm’s operations. This best of breed approach creates an integration challenge, to make all of these systems speak seamlessly with each other,” says the spokesperson. “FIS understands this challenge and our API strategy to drive openness of our core systems is helping to solve this problem.”
