Based in London, Calastone is expanding its technology and operational capacities in the mutual funds space.

Swabey joins Calastone from the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), where he developed the bank’s investor and treasury services businesses in Asia-Pacific and the UK, having started out at Euroclear in Belgium and gone on to hold a number of other senior roles within global financial institutions.

“With a wealth of expertise developing and implementing successful business development strategies in the mutual funds space, Henning’s breadth of marketplace knowledge open up significant opportunities for Calastone as we set our path to expand throughout Europe, and beyond,” said Stephen Mohan, chief operating officer at Calastone, in a statement.

Calastone has also been developing a distributed-ledger system for the mutual funds industry, and announced a successful first test of its proof-of-concept earlier this year.
